Dear Customer

Halfway through the year already and we are brimming with enthusiasm for what's to come. New people, projects and products are on board - and we're not done yet. See what we've been up to below.

OpenText news

Main Content Inline Small

We recently conducted a Partner Planning Day with senior OpenText personnel from Australia. The planning culminated in the joint signing of a Business Plan between us for the coming year. A feature of this plan is the increased focus on Microsoft SharePoint technology and its use in Information Management. We’ll look at some details in the next Techbrief.

OpenText also advised us that we have been selected to be a Platinum Focus Partner – one of only 8 in the Asia Pacific Region, and the only one in NZ. This means we have even more access to OpenText for product development and support, as well as becoming part of their strategic partner team across the region. More on this as the details unfold. We’re excited about this as it can only deliver more benefit to our clients in respect of information flow and support.

This also now applies to our Metastorm clients as well.

In addition we ran a client seminar in May with OpenText focusing on Enterprise Connect - and how it can deliver integration for eDOCS and LiveLink/Content Server clients, to the Microsoft Desktop, especially Windows 7/Office 2010 environments. We wish to advise all clients to consult with us directly before making any decision in respect to Enterprise Connect. Like any complex integration software, there are some gotchas.

Mobile management

Main Content Inline Small

We’ve finalized the details of our Enterprise Mobile Device Managed Service offering- TechMobile.

It’s a service that allows clients full management of their smartphones and iPads, over the air. Being a managed service, there is no upfront cost – pricing is per managed device per month over a fixed term contract. Clients can manage security, access, enrolment/configuration, asset management, restriction policies and a number of other activities for all devices from a central, very user friendly console. It really removes all the concerns regarding the use of iphones, androids, blackberries and windows mobile devices, in the enterprise.

TechMobile is powered by Airwatch technology. Contact your account manager or email info@techtonics.co.nz, for more information!

Techtonics @ GOVIS

Techtonics is running two briefing sessions for GOVIS (Government Information Systems Managers Forum) attendees at this year’s Conference on 20-21 June:

  • Making virtualization a productive reality - a case study
  • The amazing race - combine 3 disparate government agencies and still find your document! Information management tips, tricks, blunders and bloopers for organizations on the merge.

We look forward to seeing many of our customers and partners at this conference.

ITIL service management

Main Content Inline Small

We have begun the roll out of our new ITIL based service management framework – Beetil. Some clients are already enjoying the functionality it has to offer through our new client portal. We are gradually migrating from Techtrack and rolling out Beetil to all clients over the next few months. We are planning to enhance our service management team with an additional service analyst – this will allow our two Service Improvement Managers to spend more time directly with clients as we work to improve our service to you and add more value to your investment in us.

Client satisfaction

Main Content Inline Small

Thanks to all clients who took the time to participate in this. Our bottom line goal is 100% client reference ability. From the survey, we have 84% of respondents who would be happy to reference us 100% as being a great service provider that looks after clients well. We still have another 16% to go, and we’re working hard on that.

We are determined to not only reach the 100% goal, but maintain it as well.

Christchurch support

Main Content Inline Small

We wanted to acknowledge the challenges and difficulties being experienced after the Christchurch quake in some practical way that involved our whole team. Shortly after the February earthquake we decided that we would donate $2 for every hour of work charged to clients, for every consultant, between then and the end of our financial year (end of March). This added up. Recently we sent a cheque for several thousand dollars to the Christchurch Red Cross appeal.

New staff

As reported in our last Techbrief, we’re growing! Since February we have welcomed:

  • Erika Szabo – EA/Sales & Marketing Assistant
  • Wade Abbott - Infrastructure Consultant
  • Jason Sartorelli - Infrastructure Consultant
  • Trevor Hayles – Programme Manager
  • Kevin Daly – Developer

And for the first time in many years we’re hiring additional staff for our Auckland presence AND we are expecting two more on board in the next month. We continue to seek SharePoint consultants, Information Management Consultants, an additional project manager, and IS consultants. Good people are great to find...

Year end results

Being a privately held company we do not disclose these, but what we can say is, we had a tough year. We’re still strong though and, as you have probably gathered, business is looking up this year and we’re growing, which is great. We wish to thank all clients that supported us through a very challenging time, with the future now looking really bright.

Feedback

This is just the third of our quarterly client updates. We’d really like your feedback on whether you found this useful. Did you find it too detailed? Too brief? Did we cover what you want to hear? Let us know your thoughts – then we’ll incorporate those into the next one. Thanks for your support.
